So @carynorton and I decided that Photoshop was just a cop out for this theme. Cary had the brilliant idea to get both the front and side facing shots in one exposure (with two flash strobes) of large format film. I'm sure Cary will expound more on the photography details, but it was a total experiment and we hit it the first time through (although setup did take a while). @folliclejuju, this one goes out to you.
