mackle says:: I am all for Marriage Equality but I will say - "Marriage" is something the church handles and, being a private institution, they're allowed to oppose it all they want. I realize it's easier to say Marriage than it is Civil Union and.. honestly.. it's kind of just semantics but I think a lot of the controversy of this issue gets muddled up in the word choice.

@Mackle There is a lot of trouble caused by words /: I also think that it should be up to the individual church as to whether they accept a religious "marriage" or not, but some people who are gay are also people who are religious...
Civil union is definitely a state issue not related to churches or marriage, and your statement that it's easier to say "marriage" is something that I guess a lot of people...don't get? or take for granted....
