Whiskerino 2009

To continue my week's theme, I would like to showcase Rob Zombie's "Spookshow International" #1. This is the first of a 9 comic run. "Spookshow International" is exactly what you would expect from a comic book created by Rob Zombie. It is full of demented monsters, scantily clad women, dark humor, and twisted stories that reflect Robs well documented interest in cult horror. I have all 9 in my collection and they are all excellent.

Excellent theme idea! I'm definitely following your week. And chance we're going to see some JHTM or Squee?

Now that's a series I would love to read... I don't think they have been published in Spain, though.

I don't get what the attraction is to cult horror...

Are these as good as the rob zombie movies? I've only seen 1 of them, but I've heard the other is just as awesome. Never seen any of the comics.

@corey I wish I had JHTM or Squee. I have never read them but they are on my "want list." I especially love the cover of JHTM #1 ... it looks like an awesome horror comic!

@flainez - eBay is the way to go. These are all out of print for about a decade.

@jeremiahx I think you either get cult horror, or you don't. Those who do like it (like me) seem to be diehard fans. Have you ever watched the movie "House of 1000 Corpses" ? It's a good guage to see if you'll be into it.

@gragaband exactly!

@tedford Agreed!

@aaronb I think so (if you're into comics). Rob zombie has more than two films though (and all are excellent). (1) House of 1000 Corpses (2) The Devel's Rejects (3) Halloween Remake (which I actually like more than the original) (4) El Superbeasto (an animated film based on this comic) (5) Halloween 2 (also known as H2, which is released on dvd today actually).

Danzig, and now Rob Zombie. You almost have two themes going on at the same time. Music and comics.

After I hit "say it!" it occurred to me that he's probably made a movie or two since I saw the devil's rejects. I was just waiting for your comment. Thank you. I will check out his other movies. I'm not much of s comic book person.

Yogi Beard says:
I have a lot of respect for Rob Zombie. His movies and music are hit-and-miss, but he always tries to give horror some dignity.

Ah, Rob Zombie, how I love thee. A twisted, sadistic, horrific, talented man.

Mr. Zombie apprenticed and got licensed to tattoo at a shop right here in Madison, WI. Astro-Creep 2000 was a high school mainstay for me.
