Once again I missed out on a theme day. Instead I was busy meeting people to sell things on craigslist, picking up a camera lens from repair and then putting on to this new toy and taking this photo. What camera is that you say? Its the Polaroid 600SE which is the only full manual camera that polaroid ever released (and it was actually just a mamiya camera). Anyway, nothing special here, but I'm super excited about this camera.

Sounds good enough to skip theme day to me. I just sort of ignored it too.

Ploafmaster says:
Yes! That's essentially the Mamiya Press in disguise, right?

Barefoot says:
That is nuts that polaroid released a full manual camera at some point in history...

You could see that beard a mile away, so awesome!

This composition is incredibly soothing.

also admit it...the only reason you didn't do the theme today is b/c you didn't wanna have to decide which one to do.

Where are you getting the film for it?

@mattyc - I actually shot a webcam grapes shot at work today, but I forgot to bring my laptop home and therefore I don't have it. So instead I just uploaded this shot.

@wondermade - I buy film on eBay, amazon, and on polapremium.com This is a packfilm camera which means that Fuji is actually still making film to this day that works in this camera (this was shot on non-expired Fuji Film from Amazon). polapremium is your best bet on quality. eBay can really be a gamble on what you'll get, but I've had some great luck so far. A few sour batches, but nothing to cry over. In fact some times the failed film makes for beautiful art of its own.

Also, I think my local camera shop still stocks Fuji peel-apart film. I can price it for your next time I'm downtown. In fact, I should do it for myself anyway, and get motivated to bust out my land cameras.

@zackle - the film is pretty cheap on amazon and I have a prime account so I get free two day shipping. However based on your color treatments of your digital photos, I highly recommend you hop on eBay and purchase yourself some ID-UV film (or 669 film. ID-UV is the same thing but with a UV watermark and tends to be cheaper). Can't wait to see some more polaroid shots from you.

Seriously? I mean, come on. Easiest theme day ever! ;)

Nice camera.

Cool. I have some 669 film I've been sitting on for a while. I rarely bust out the polaroids for self shots because I don't have a close-up adapter. Maybe I can do a couple anyway before Whiskerino's over.

are we supposed to say @hale on pictures of obscure cameras so he can be alerted and come here and explain the camera's various advantages and drawbacks?

man, so so cool. i'm certainly jealous. the SE has interchangeable lenses, right? do you have just the one lens for it, or do you have others?

A great new toy, is always fun. Congrats on that find.

@hale, This is indeed the one with interchangable lenses. I have the 127mm but there is also a 150mm and 75mm. I don't really want the 150mm but one day I would like to get my hands on a 75mm. I will show my camera collection before whiskerino is over.
