All good things must come to an end. I've said from the start of my third tour of duty here on the Whiskerino that I grew a beard for the sake of the Throwdown. When I discovered (to my dismay) that it was scheduled at a time when I would be unable to attend. Surely I could have keep growing — but it all began to seem pointless to me; to keep doing a thing (that had grow to be more and more pushed to the background, more an effort, more a burden) without the final payoff, which now won't come.

All good things must come to an end, and my friends, this is the end.

I'm not sure if I'll see any of you again, and some you never get the chance to meet; and for that I'm most sad. I've made friends for a lifetime, which is the greatest gift a site about growing beards could give. I'm indebted to @Mackle for pouring his heart and time into a thing so absurd and perfect.

All good things must come to an end.

His reflection waved at him in the mirror as he walked out of the bathroom forever.

mackle says:: This is certainly a travesty for the Whiskerino at large but, as I have noted before, there's almost something pleasant about some of the biggest and brightest Whiskerino "Stars" departing before the very end. With this being the Final Chapter and all it sorta makes it extremely fitting and a proper way to close things out.

You will be missed (particularly on the forthcoming Mugshot Day) and I hope to see you again in May... the Internet / World needs your ridiculous photography skills.

Though deep in my heart I'm in awe of all you're wonderful kind, honest heartfelt comments you all have left. This was far more difficult and sad than I would have ever thought, and I honestly shed a tear or two today. This wasn't some passing thing for me, Whiskerino has been much much more to me, and deciding to end it was no simple or easy decision, but one I felt I had to make. Some men love having beards all the time, I'm not one of those. I will do my dammedest to try and see as many of you as I can in the future - either in actual visits (be prepared Nashville) or online.
