It came like a rogue wave, a flat tire, or an episode of the Golden Girls. The inescapable feeling that this wasn't working, that is wasn't going to work, that it never had a chance to work. The Arch-Enemy now knew that his plan had failed, mostly by his own hand. The life and the actions of a hero weren't so easily duplicated.

But what now? Now that the realization also came that his life was incomplete without the sense of competition and conflict he enjoyed while stalking the hero. How was he to get that back? How could he get the hero back? How does one catch a ghost?
