Movers, shakers,
money makers,
deal breakers, and dogs,
In this game
you’ve got to lose

Grower&Shower says:
I like the amps in the foreground but you're playing acoustic. That would be my choice.

@miguelito I'm not plugged into an amp in this, but I have a marshall head on top of those cabinets in the shot, and a line 6 practice amp that I love.

Is that a taylor you're playing?
Posted: Nov 12th, 2009 - 5:49pm -
ThatGuy says:
@Twisted Sistare Yes, but it's the bottom of the line model. I got it used a couple of years ago before I'd even really heard of them. Still sounds good though.

Can you play I Wanna Be Your Dog?

@jat requests that at just about every dive-bar show he's at...and every time he sees @JeffTweedy or @ JayFarrar

ThatGuy says:
@jat You've seen Farrar? Nice. I missed him by a day once while on a San Fran trip, and as far as I know he hasn't played around here in quite a while. Seen Wilco once, but have to see them again now that Nels Cline is in the band.

Really well composed shot. I like the black, yellow, orange shades throughout! Well done.

ThatGuy says:
Thanks @Fofe. I can actually say that's intentional this time. Never even opened that beer, and added the cable after taking a dozen shots. Thanks for seeing it.

You can tell a taylor by the pickguard - they sound sooooo good (even the lower end models). I've got a 410-CE that I bought used for way too little from someone who needed to make rent. My previous acoustic was (is) a crappy Yamaha so it sounded like gold when I got it. Still does. Great guitars.

@ThatGuy I've seen Wilco thrice (all 3 times with Nels), Jeff Tweedy solo once and Jay with the newest incarnation of Son Volt once. Son Volt was great because it was a really small room an it kinda felt like the early 90's.

@jat-color me jelous. I've loved all of those guys for so long. Quick FYI: Jay Bennet's last record along with a bunch of other band's records are available for free download at rockproper.com (Clame). I'm not a big fan of downloading (i'm a cd/record geek), but it's a decent record and worth a listen. check it out.

thanks a lot, @ThatGuy . I'm a bit of a record geek...but I'm not above downloading and burning.

This is a really fantastic shot. I even love the spectraflex fatso cable providing that strong vertical line in the center of the shot.
