Alas, I have no Ugly Christmas Sweater to share (pa rum pa pum pum), but I do have this...

Accidentally stumbled on this lovely chord yesterday while practicing. This chord is full of beauty, sex, adventure, and mystery.

I'm not the best chord theory guy, but it sounds to me like some kind of E minor.

Here's the fingering (low to high)

E: Open
A: Middle finger, second fret
D: Pinky, fourth fret
G: Open
B: Index finger, first fret
E: Open

Pluck the strings slowly with your thumb and let them ring out to hear this chord in all it's glory.

i guess it's either an e-minor 9 flat 13 or it's a CMaj.7 #11 in first inversion. but i'm leaning more towards the first one. I guess it really depends on the application.

sorry... my nerd glass are slipping down the bridge of my nose. i'm going to have to push them up so they sit right again.

HiImTerry says:
Clearly a G 7th major. If you change your B finger to open it will be an F minor double pike. If you leave your B finger where it is and move your D finger to G you will release the matrix. Be careful with that one.

Your hand looks like those crab boy hands the tabloids loved so much in the eighties.

I'll try this chord later, and get back to you. @twistedsistare, and @hiimterry have both impressed me. Even if they're wrong. I've been playing for 15 years and couldn't have guessed if I had to.

look at the notes: E B F# G C E

it's not a G chord. that doesn't make any sense.

@TwistedSistare, I totally made up everything I said about this chord. I haven't the slightest clue what it could be called. I'm so guitar inept, that when I want to tell somebody what string to finger I still have to say "E, A, D, G..." in my head. It's like having to sing the alphabet when alphabetizing things.

In short, I was attempting sarcasm, but did it about as well as I play the guitar. :(

The know-it-all chord sarcasm was totally obvious @HiImTerry! No need for guitar-oriented self loathing or beating up of self.
