I had bigger plans for today's theme, involving the construction of a frame tale about a young virgin who will be beheaded in the morning unless she can keep the king's interest in her ongoing serial narrative. However, I've gotta get outta town--going to visit a very special friend for New Year's Eve--and I'm running late. So this'll hafta do.
