When my kids heard that today was going to be taco day they were very excited about having tacos for dinner and very, very excited about coming up with a photo for taco theme day. My youngest's was emphatic about her plan: "You get a taco--a *real taco*--and you stand there with a taco in your hands like you're gonna take a big bite out of it. But it's a *real* taco. That's gotta be a hit, because you'll have a *real* taco in your hand. Everyone will love that photo."

My eldest had a slightly more elaborate plan, which entailed purchasing a taco costume and taking a photo of myself wearing the costume and eating a taco. I would print the photo and frame it, then put the costume back on and take a photo of myself eating another taco while drawing a beard on the framed photo of myself wearing the taco costume while eating a taco.

I actually did put some slight effort into following Eldest's plan; however, the costume shop that I could make it to today is no longer there, guess they closed down quickly after Halloween. Eldest swallowed her disappointment and agreed to take the above photo of me while I finished making dinner tonight, though she kept muttering about how this was never gonna be good enough to win me a king beard. She's right, especially since then I fell asleep reading bedtime stories to her and her sister and just woke up now in time to upload my photo. I fear that I am becoming a member of the late night crew, though thus far I am still continuing to maintain my membership in the perfect attendance crew as well.
