so dig this. My sister-in-law was induced Friday night and had the baby around 7am this morning. 33 hours. My 96 year old grandmother was there for the final 18 hours. She insisted on being present for the birth of her 23rd great-grandchild. she never fell asleep. Even I had to find a corner to doze off.

23rd?! She must be made of steel or something! I hope I'm half that awesome at 96!

Both mom and baby are good.

a word about yesterday's post. I drove to St. Louis yesterday thinking I'd get there after the birth of the baby, and be home at my Dad's in time to post. When I got to the hospital and realized it was going to be all night, I quickly found the nearest camera phone, and got a picture emailed to my mom, since my mom in Alabama would be the only person I know that would be home on a Saturday Night.

It took me 15 minutes just to get her to figure out how to download the picture, and another 20 minutes to talk her through where to type www.whiskerino.org. In short, my mom sacrificed alot of time and patience in the name of a whiskerino post. just give her an applause.

Fantastic! Your grandmother is made of awesome stuff. I wish my grandparents were still around now that I'm old enough to know that I need to get their stories out of them before they pass.

That's awesome. I reckon if you last 96 years you can hold out 18 hours.

I am helping @Mackle organize the Friday night event at the Marathon Village. We would like to have snacks for people to munch (especially with the beer drinking) and for those out-of-towners who might arrive late and not have time to eat. So, we are asking the Nashville folks to pitch in and provide these snacks I have a list of things we need. If you would be willing to help, please email me at pam dot nelson at Comcast dot net. Let’s show our traveling beards some true southern hospitality..
