I'm starting my theme a day early and over the next week I'll feature one book a day.

Today's book is Blood River to Berlin by my Grandfather. It is an account of his life growing up in the Tennessee hills, going off to war, then later returning to start a family and a radio station.

He finished writing the book in 2005 and since then he and my Grandmother have organized an impressive speaking tour where they have self promoted the book.

I have many favorite quotes but here is one I felt was fitting for tonight.

"At this moment, at this place, the bantering, laughter and the music - especially the music - take me back to another lifetime a million years ago like a time that only happened in a dream."

Good thinking on the theme. Can't wait to see what you bust out. Any man who uses 'banter' is alright by me

That's so cool. I remember you talking about them organizing the book tour a while back.

This is especially interesting to me right at the moment because I'm sorta trying to screw up my courage to write a book-length memoir-type thing. It feels really daunting, so it's good to know other people have pulled it off successfully.
