In 1984 I received this sock-monkey as a Christmas present from my Great-Grandmonther. At the time I remember being disappointed it wasn't a Transformer. Since then I have learned to appreciate the significance of this simple artifact of my heritage.

The painting is by Ryan @hale and was given to me at Beard Contest 2003 Throwdown. Ryan wasn't able to make the event but he sent this in his absence.

The quilt by my Grandmother and was given to me at the end of 2008 - a hard but great year.
