I like a man who isn't afraid to drink a beer a little early in the season for said beer.
I brewed a samichlaus clone about 3 years ago... one of the few beers I've let age a significant amount of time. I've only drank 1 and was planning on getting into them this winter. Remind me and I'll bring you one at the throwdown.
That's some strong brew at 14%. My experience has been that once you get above 11-12% it adversely affects the flavor of the beer. That's probably just my personal tastes though. Would still love to give it a try.
About the beer: It was really good! I'm always impressed with a beer that can have +10% abv and NOT overpower you with an alcohol tatse. This was one of those beers.
Of course, I haven't tried that brew yet, but being that I can be a bit of a beer snob (as some of my "Miller Lite" drinkin' friends refer to me as) and always looking for some out-of-the-ordinary brews, this would definitely take the cake.
