I finally took the leap and started my own wild yeast starter.

The idea of harvesting yeast and bacteria from the air to leaven bread seems like part mad science and part alchemy, but bakers have been doing it for centuries.

I have a long way to go, but I'll keep you updated on the progress. I'm pretty excited about it.

So awesome! I tried sourdough with naturally harvested yeast and failed miserably (it was sourdough cake, yeesh) so I wish you better luck than I had.

@ozzynelson Some friends of mine who are starting a brewery are harvesting wild yeast for their next saison. I hope it works.
