I am 36 years old, and I play hockey three times a week, coach it twice a week, and referee 2-5 games a week. But I didn't really learn to skate until I was 25 years old. I played them all, and Hockey is my favorite sport. It is the one sport you can play your whole life. The thing is, its more fun if you are good at it. You have an opportunity now to get good at it, and its a skill you will always have. Don't ever let a grumpy coach, or a bully, or a hard body check, make the game not fun for you. Just try your hardest, learn as much as you can, and have a great time. Even if you are not the best player on your team, don't forget how much better you are getting than the kids that don't play hockey. When you are 20 those kids will be getting into hockey, and know nothing, and you'll be skating circles around them.
