this is my little buddy Solomon. some of you may remember during the last Whiskerino he was one of the many baby's born. he was born with an encephalocele, which means he had a hole in the back of his head which caused part of his brain (size of a fist) to be exposed when he was born. he had about a 30% chance of survivale after birth. as you can see here though, he is doing great!

this is one of his favorite games to play when I get home. he eats and pulls my strings on my hoodie. it's a lot of fun for him and me. he doesn't have to wear this special football helmet he has on, but we have found that it calms him down and makes him feel more secure. plus I think he looks super cute and very awesome in it.

I hope you guys have an awesome day today!

I'm so glad he's doing well. I remember when all that was going on, and I remember how tough it was on you (obviously).

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how he was doing.

Ozzy Nelson says:
Man, you need to get that helmet custom painted like one of the hockey goalies. I'll bet someone would do it for free. Solomon could help with the design.

Heart melted. Kids beating medical odds is one of the best things ever, it takes strong kids and in my estimation even stronger parents.

I also echo @gavin's comments about the beard. looks monstrous.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. I'm glad this pic warmed some of your hearts on this cold day. He is truly a miracle from God and it is only because of Him that he is here today.

Also thanks for the comments on the beard growth. I hope one of my two sons inherit my hair genes.

@benfrank - I love you big guy! I need to see you face/face soon. since Bean is out now, who's studio are we going to hang out at for a photoshoot in January?
