This are the novels of the recently late author, J.D. Salinger. He remains one of my favorite authors. Franny and Zooey is my favorite novel of all time. I am not overstating it when I say that I am a different person because of that book.

Salinger passed from this life three days ago at the age of 91. To celebrate his life, I plan on re-reading (again) all of his published books over the next few weeks.

I started reading franny and zooey the other day in memory of salinger. I have all his works (those editions actually). My wife loves him. I haven't had a chance to read any of his novels yet though.

Maybe we'll have some more published books coming if the rumors of his prolific private writing turn out to be true.

Great tribute.

I'll be bringing a photocopy of Salinger's New Yorker story, Hapworth 16, 1924, to throwdown for @motke if you wanna take it to Kinko's and make a copy. It's the lost Seymour Glass story.

Fine tribute - I'm glad his books weren't as reclusive as he was.

LOVE.

I caught on to Salinger later in life. Last whiskerino, actually. @brandon let me borrow Nine Stories, and it has changed me. I've now read everything (save for Seymour and Introduction because it was a little rambling, but I may try again) that he's written, and I love Nine Stories best, followed by Franny and Zooey.

Great stuff here. I hope they publish the stuff packed away in his drawers and closets and the like.

Ok...I read catcher in the rye last year...I never got to read it in High school. Well I thought it was totally not very good at all...there was really only one chapter that was any good and that was like way into the book...the kid just wasn't very unique or interesting and I didn't really care about him.

Dear Team #Taco,
I bought groceries this week. I bought ingredients for salads, spaghetti, and tacos. But mostly tacos. I ate tacos for breakfast, and I'll be having them for dinner tonight. I will eat at least 24 tacos this week.

I love you, my Team. Team of Teams. Oh, team oh mine.
Love,
Just Jamey
P.S. Excellent tribute, mynameisjason.

This is a great tribute. I did mine on the 28th, but not nearly as well. I haven't read Franny and Zooey. But I love Nine Stories and was going to read it again. Maybe I'll go pick up F & Z instead.

thanks, fellas.

@mattyc - i actually agree with you to an extent. catcher in the rye is my least favorite salinger book. it's a fun character study, but it has none of the magic of nine stories or franny and zooey

@brandon - that's great! i've got Hapsworth on my computer but i've never printed it.

@m0tke- glad you're a fan, too. nine stories is amazing. especially "a perfect day for bananafish".
