Bottling this year's attempt at hard cider. Last year's batch didn't turn out so well because I used the wrong yeast. This batch already tastes better and aging in bottles will only improve the taste. Below is the ingredients I used.

Hard Cider (5 Gallons):
.5 lbs of Crystal 60L
1 oz of torrified wheat for head retention
4 gallons of local apple cider
1 gallon of water
2 lbs of DME (I used 1 lb. amber and 1 lb. light DME)
0.5 oz of you favorite hops (~6% AA)

Have you ever had Pear Cider? It's fantastic! So crisp...Woodchuck on draft is excellent.

I hate bottling day. I need to find a homebrewer close by who hates brew day but doesn't mind bottling, and trade out tasks with them. Something would probably be lost in the translation, though.

Enjoy the hard cider!

I have never made cider with grain. Good idea. I'm going to try this.

@JustJamey You could even sub apple juice from the store instead of local cider and it should turn out well I believe. Might have to move to 120L if is real cheap stuff though.
