Taken at Mount Le Conte (6600 ft.), Great Smokey Mountains. We hiked Alum Cave to Le Conte to Icewater to Newfound Gap. Dropped to 6 degrees Saturday night with alot of snow.

Moo and i did that hike earlier this year...feb. in fact. we came across ice at the point of the trail where the steel cable is located. Gorgeous view from alum ave, even more so with snow! Safe travels back to nash-vegas.

I proposed to my wife on Mt. Le Conte and we've been married now for 6 years. This was one of our special hikes in the Smokies especially when the cold kicks in and nobody is there. Always fun with the crampons strapped on.

Man, we so loved hiking the first part of the Alum Cave Bluffs Trail.....wanted to go further but was not prepared for that....would love to do it sometime....group trip could be fun

That is some beautiful frostiness! It seems the frost makes a beard +10 beardly. Well done on the hike by the way. Was that a day hike or did you sleep outside in that weather?
