Long day of productivity is best rewarded with some quiet time on the porch.

Also, I need a haircut for my Pageboy style.

Pygmy, huh? How do you like it so far? I've read most of his stuff and didn't care for Snuff (barely got into it before stopping), but I have been interested in maybe picking up this one.

@motke, he's been on a downhill slide since his first three books.. my interest is rarely held by them anymore but I needed some frivolous fiction to breeze through and forgot I had this. So, I'm giving it a go. I'm not too far into it but it's OK - better than his most recent efforts but I'm not far enough into it yet to really even know if its worth recommending.

@mikedemonk, I made a Team Everywhere Else - is that sufficient?

i gave up on Palahniuk after Haunted. i'm always up for rereading Invisible Monsters though.

I love your chairs and your view. Your choice of author is good, too, though I concur with @Tedford and you about his downhill slope on my opinion-meter. Better than most of that crappy chick lit I choose for easy reading, though ;)

@tedford Invisible Monsters was great. Choke was great too, but the movie sucked. I stopped reading his work about 20 pages into Haunted. I had no idea he'd written another until this post. Thanks @mackle and @motke for making me aware, though I won't take further action unless someone recommends the book.

I really loved Lullaby and let me share this: Rant via audio book was fantastic. It was performed by 40+ voice actors and the delivery was stellar. After listening to it, I tried picking up the book and it just wasn't the same.

I still have finished Haunted (I have it on mp3, and it's just rough to listen to, so I have never finished.)

i like to think that if you have to pee, but not super bad, you use that little outhouse instead of going inside. also that woudl be a great place to hide your tabaccy.

@mOtke - I really liked Survivor and Invisible Monsters. I think of those often. Wasn't Haunter the compilation of short stories? I read that one in Playboy about the boy in the swimming pool and it was terrific. Didn't read the rest of the book, though. Palahniuk wrote a travel book about Portland that was really neat. I still wanna go there.

If you dig Palahniuk, check out "White Noise" by Don Delillo. Chuck learned a thing or two from him. Great book.

@mercantilever, funny story - the first picture I ever saw of @KMS I commented that I thought I looked a lot like him. the comment seems to be lost in the flickr ether but clame for that exact photo.

@damnweather, no - you are not a bad person at all for that. I think Fight Club the movie is one of the rarest of cases where the movie supercedes the book in terms of excellence.

@LG3, wishful thinking.. just live in a neighborhood. no lake.

@KimJongIllness, done and done.
