John Muir: Friend of Forests. Friend of Beards.

Spent a lot of time in Muir Woods today and felt very at home with my beard in the wilderness - not a feeling I experience very often. It was a pleasant reminder of how the beard can change you.

Tomorrow is a big day. I am already trying to find the words for it but I know it won't be easy. If they come out wrong you should all know, at the very very least, that this Whiskerino thing is special. We all created it. I thank you for it and I will see you for one last time tomorrow.

This certainly is a fine tree of beards you've planted. Thank you for this space on the web to celebrate the beard.

That beard is pure fiber.

You've certainly cemented a place for yourself in the annals of male self-actualization. Which is far more significant than it sounds.

Clame for more John Muir. One day I would love to get out west and spend some time retracing his steps. He was an amazing man and truely honorable hero to the conservation movement in this country.

Thank you @mackle , this has been a great experience and pushed me to a new respect of the beard. I've met some great folks and spent hours and hours at work sharing King Beards with fellow employees, making their life apart of Whiskerino.

When people ask me what this is all about, I tell them it is not a contest but a brotherhood of beardsmanship. I will be sad when it is over but I will continue to enlighten others around me about this incredible process and journey.

Thanks again and here's to tomorrow, The Final Day.

I can't even think of something to say that hasn't been said.

I do find the photo absolutely appropriate. If I was to say something witty it would be that perhaps... you have done for beards what Muir Woods did for the forest.

Went to Muir Woods with Roselle in '99. Stunning place. I'm glad you are somewhere grand for what has to be a significant and possibly difficult weekend for you.

I understand your "beard in the wilderness" thought, and feel the same way. A man with a baby chin is unnatural. Lately when I see pictures of myself clean-shaven they seem obscene.

I'm really dreading the looming shave, but men are taproots for beards. While we're alive they're never gone for good.

Muir Woods is amazing. I went there with a good friend and just walked around for hours without saying a word. Take a look at these photos I shot while following a beetle around. It is a bit graphic. So be warned.
