Throwdown Updates:
Friday
7pm. Marathon Village Event Space. Thanks to @OzzyNelson, @MrsOzzy and Team #Nashville for really kicking butt on the details of this.

Saturday Night
Catering acquired! Get ready for a feast of 500 Tacos! Wear something nice and we'll toast to the greatest online beard contest the Internet has known. Arrive at 7pm promptly.

The only caveat to the catered dinner is that it's sorta expensive! I'm going to be looking for $20 for each plate, so bring some cash. I realize this sounds inordinately expensive for tacos but it is the only expense I'm asking of you for the whole weekend, so I hope that's alright.

I also have arranged for a soft serve ice cream machine to be at the event but need someone to pick it up Saturday morning between 10am and noon.. as well as return it Sunday morning (same times). If you can fit a 200 lb ice cream machine in your vehicle, please hit me up: michael [at] yewknee [dot] com.

Sorry to use this space as a news / blog - it just seems the easiest way to get the word out.

I didn't mean to sound bitter after asking about additional guests. I do understand your assumptions about being in a room full of 200 people while only knowing a couple and how most would stray away from situations like that. I'll save you an even longer explanation and only ask a few more questions:

If they do decide to come:
1) How much should we expect to kick-in for the Friday night gathering?
2) How much should we expect to kick-in for the Saturday afternoon bowling? I definitely don't want to be seen as taking advantage of Whiskerino to get anyone free bowling. We can pay if need be. :)
3) Did you find someone to pick up the ice cream machine? We're driving out and can definitely pick up that machine in our beast of a vehicle. We just wouldn't be able to drop it back of on Sunday morning as we'll leaving right after the bowling to get back in time for Sunday services.

Thanks again for organizing this whole endeavor and dealing with the creepers who are bringing their parents. I'm positive that you deal with stuff that you never dreamed of when starting an internet beard growing contest and I appreciate your patience.

2) Saturday bowling is sponsored by MailChimp - no charge but if you're bringing extras, be sure to give beardos first claim on the lanes.. they're the ones that have been growing and showing for 4 months.
