Whiskerino: The Final Chapter
by: Matt Murphy
In the beginning, @Mackle
created the idea and website. Now the site was userless and empty, shaven faces throughout the pages and the Spirit of Beardedness was not located upon our faces. And @mackle
said “Let there be beards,” and there were beards.
For four months, beards were grown, beards were shown. They grew in all shapes and sizes. Some long, some stubbly, some full, some patchy, some thick, some thin. In special cases, such as my good friend @frog
almost no beard was grown at all. Most of us stayed strong, regardless of the condition of our beards; alas, not all of us were able to stick with this, for one reason or another. These people, while bringing shame upon themselves, and all of us with them, are still to be respected in their own right, as they have still made an effort to compete with us.
I, personally, have had a wonderful time. From the moment @Tomcat
was placed into the Hall Of Shame, until tonight. I have thought long and hard, as to what my pictures should be, and I feel I bring shame upon myself, for I have not realized all of the pictures I had thought of. I also feel shame, in that on more than one occasion, I brought myself to the brink of being shamed. I have stayed strong, and I have loved every moment of it. For this, I thank you fine gentlemen. I thank all of whom I have talked to. I thank all of whom have commented on me (although I have fallen short in the comment department, this has several reasons, none of which make me feel the least bit better)
Do as you shall with your facial hair, but keep in mind; a true man embraces at least some form of beard.
The Protomen – Your song of “Beard's Going Nowhere” from Whiskerino 2007, introduced me to this fine place, and encouraged me to join.
– You've quickly become a friend who I wish to become closer with in the coming months and years
– You said months (perhaps even a year ago, now) that you would join Whiskerino with me, you stuck to your word, and you've done a fine job of sticking with it, despite your lack of bearding ability.
– What can I say, every night I stopped in on the chat box, you were there to provide words of encouragement... You also wrote a beard rap, what isn't there to love?
– You created Whiskerino, you let me join after you had closed the doors. You've single handedly done everything you possibly could to become a personal hero of mine in some capacity. You have my eternal gratitude.

Finally: For all of you who wish to keep in contact with all of us, rather than individually. I have created a forum for us all
Goodbye, I shall miss you all. I leave you all with a final Pose, and a song.
