Things that I have built with my own hands.

Day Three:
This is a large stone project that I completed (with a little help from my brother) about 6 years ago. We hauled in multiple tractor trailer loads of stone that we had move down into the backyard: about a 10' drop. I think we had around 80-100 tons of stone on this one. As with yesterday's, I designed the layout and other features of the stonework. We excavated and poured all the footings by hand. The project encompassed a fully terraced back yard with walls and steps, of which I'll show a bit more tomorrow.

Cool feature: all the walls and columns are solid stone all the way through. The joints are so tight that I could barely even climb it as high as I did for this shot. More details tomorrow.
