In addition to The Final Chapter of Whiskerino, November 2009 also marks the 10th anniversary of National Novel Writing Month [www.nanowrimo.org].

It'll be my third year participating in NaNoWriMo, and I'm just as nervous as ever.

These are pages from the 50,000 word draft I wrote last year. Since 2008's outcome felt a little more satisfactory, I've decided to use it as a guideline this time around. Oh, and the thing on my face is Steve Hely's funny new book, "How I Became A Famous Novelist."

The time formerly spent trimming facial hair will now be spent typing words on a screen.

Wish me luck!

One of the weirdos at @Laura 's library is a many-time participant in NaNoWriMo. You're daring people.

@eightyeight I'll paste the synopsis:

TRY AGAIN is the story of clashing egos and clanging guitars. It is the story of one mediocre band's first and final U.S. Tour.

The last thing the world needs is another travel narrative. Scratch that. The last thing it needs is another teenager-comprised rock and roll band. But The Richardnixons aren't aware of these two things, and certainly aren't aware of the disastrous places the combination could lead. Besides, if you tried warning them they'd spit at your face and watch you run off crying.

When it comes to the road, and to the saving graces of rock and roll, the last thing The Richardnixons need are unbelievers. The first thing they need is to get there before soundcheck.

The Band:

Charley Discovery – vocals, guitar, supreme style
Babybear – rhythm guitar, keyboards, vicious teeth
Georgie Ullman – drums, physical fatness, self-esteem issues (baker's dozen)
James Donovan – bass, dead brother's ghost on his shoulders
Braxton Evanson Stephenson – roadie, nerd of the highest order, video game console

& Victoria — girl

Please fasten your seatbelt.

I applaud that you're doing both. I briefly considered it and instead elected to keep my family.
