So something is getting lost in translation when I import long exposure shots from my camera to my computer. I'll take the photo, and it'll look just like it's supposed to in the viewfinder, but when I import in iPhoto, it either doesn't import at all, or gives me this.

We'll see where this takes us. I think you can see my beard somewhere in the green digital age.

Try just directly copying the photo to your hard drive and previewing it there. Then import. I think this used to happen to me and something I found fixed it. But unhelpfully, I can't remember what that thing I found was.
