Johnny Rebellious says:
@whiskerbert, I have always been intrigued by the veil of darkness and the power it holds -- but even with that said, the darkest of dark will still yield to the tiniest bit of light... and that's what I've been capturing here. This picture itself is partially inspired by the blurry, chaotic painting styles of Francis Bacon, but it's mostly inspired by the torment I was going through while suffering from a migraine.

I have a feeling I'm going to continue this "darkness" series throughout the rest of the week.

whiskerbert says:
thanks for the explanation. I have heard of darkness explained as the absence of light.

Sorry to hear about the migraine, what caused it?

Johnny Rebellious says:
@whiskerbert, I'm honestly not sure what caused the migraine -- but I've been getting them almost daily for the past week. It's been like this my whole life... they come in bunches for a week or so, then disappear for a while and come back again a month or 2 later.

and I almost forgot -- thanks for your concern, and thank you for the compliment on this picture! It's appreciated, sir

It looks like this was taken at the bottom of a well, with just enough mustache to float above the awesome line.

You have gotten yourself into one cosmic mess now haven't you. I hate it when I have to put in the earplugs so I don't hear the cries form the abyss.

setting us up for a week of awesome shots.

sorry to hear about the migraine. i've been dealing with them myself for about the last two years. i think we've finally sorted it out. but i've never had to deal with them in clusters. only thing worse then a migraine is a bunch of them.

Just read whats behind this theme. Cool. Migraines suck. If you have gas heat sometimes gas can cause them. BTW Francis Bacon rocks.

Johnny Rebellious says:
@Gavin, what have you done to sort out your migraines? Is there something you're doing to prevent them from happening?

And you're right -- cluster migraines are horrendous. Trust me, you don't want to deal with them.

Gavin says:
i ended up going to the doctor. i started get them after playing basketball or going to the gym. i had some scary ones with numb hands and confused thinking. so i basically stopped doing those things and that's no good. they did some tests to rule stuff out. then after a few months of keeping logs about when i get them etc, i reluctantly took some medication. it's only been about a little over a month and so far i haven't had one and i'm back in the gym and playing basketball with no problems.
