Here's an outtake from yesterday's shots... I sadly won't be around a camera for the majority of the day, so this will have to do. Hopefully I'll be able to take another shot to take its stead sometime in the late evening.

Johnny Rebellious says:
@Absolutely - I reside about 25 minutes outside the big city in a town called Schaumburg. You probably have no idea where that is. It's home to Woodfield Mall, which is apparently internationally known (I know it's at least nationally known).

I love this. It looks like you guitar is turning it's back to you, and you are reaching out to stop it.

This, along with all of your other shots, just makes me think that you're the toughest, yet most emotive guy ever.

so I gotta ask. what's the other tattoo?
Posted: Jan 7th, 2010 - 10:05am -
Johnny Rebellious says:
@Andrew, the other tattoo is one of the many logos of a Chicago based punk band called the Lawrence Arms (perhaps you've heard of them?). Anywho, it was my first tattoo -- I was 18 and had wanted some ink all my life, so I hastily got one without much thought. I loved that band at the time (and I still do love their early work), and I also loved the previous bands they sprung from (Slapstick, the Broadways). CLAME for logo (the tattoo itself does not say "Lawrence Arms" on it).

great shot man, love the black n white your outtakes are fantastic!

and yeah its a shame that most our decent stuff gets sold off or given away when we are younger!

Andrew says:
that's rad. I like Lawrence Arms. An old roommate used to jam Slapstick all the time.

What LA album would you recommend? I am way into newer Rise Against, do they play together at all when RA isn't touring?

Posted: Jan 7th, 2010 - 2:10pm -
Johnny Rebellious says:
@Andrew, when it comes to LA's material, I'm kinda biased and go for their earlier stuff, though their newer material is also good. In my opinion, nothing will ever top their first album "A Guided Tour of Chicago", and their second album, "Ghost Stories", is a great contender. Maybe it's because the quality of the recordings on those records is sort of terrible, so it reminds me of Slapstick and the Broadways, giving me fond memories... I don't know. All of their EP's are great, too. But if I was to recommend 1 album, it would be the first one I mentioned, by far -- it's dirty, it's gritty... it "tastes" like Chicago.... after that, I'm sure you'll want to explore further (I'm not sure how familiar you are with their material).

As far as I know, they are still touring, though it's sadly a rarity nowadays, and they almost immediately sell out venues when back in Chicago.

You should also check out the Falcon, which is a side project made up of 2 members of LA, Dan Adriano from Alkaline Trio, and Todd Mohney - formerly from Rise Against. It's a pretty strong band.
