i am a rookie this year and didn't know about the 2003 site. @mackle showed me his archive after i started doing one this year. it was a great project that was fun to do and i enjoy looking at in my archive. i'd encourage anyone to give it a shot. it's fun stuff.
@folliclejuju - I'm completely flabborgasted, I never saw, or at least never caught on to you doing that for almost a whole month!?!? You are a god, I had no idea.
@OzzyNelson - in my opinion, there is no beard born to man as amazing as @mackle's. This is a cheezy reproduction done for my first attempt at a @jnonfiction--its intent is to draw attention to one of the greatest things I've seen in the collective facial hair sites..to pay homage by being mediocre, and therefore further showing how totally incredible the last 9 days of Michael Eades Beard Contest 2003 really were. You can call this a lamebute for sure!
the only downside of that particular trick is that i actually used one photo for 9 days - not exactly the most true to life representation of my documentation. there are worse things in life i suppose. that may have been the pinnacle of my creativity.. since then everyone has always kicked my butt in that department. people such as yourself.. you always bring the goods hankbobs.. keep doing what you do!
@mackle - I assumed you used one photo, and just overlayed a screen shot of the box layout.. simply because it was so perfect. I still don't think that takes away from it. It blew my mind when I saw it. I just left a lengthy comment on @yourfavorite's page about similar 'outside the box' thinking that I think really rules.
