NYC Day 1 - Go Go Curry, Midtown

This seemingly hole-in-the-wall curry restaurant on 38th and 8th is actually one of over fifty locations (the vast majority in Japan).

The chain is a huge fan of Hideki Matsui, so they opened up store #55 in NYC. Now that he's traded to LA, who knows what happens next.

This is a 'Grand Slam', 12.95 of various meats doused in curry sauce over rice. Perfect for the just-got-off-the-plane meal.

AND I just realized that this upload is #55 as well - totally unplanned but a fitting tribute to Matsui... weird!

I really like the name 'go go curry' - that alone would get me to eat there.

@davidw it is more sweet than spicy but it has some kick. The interesting thing about visiting Japan (where I first got addicted to the stuff) is that it is quite different from Indian curries. Worth a try if you can find it.
