It has become clear to me that I am a nonparticipant, in all meaningful ways (except for the fact that I'm growing a beard and will continue to do so until the deadline of 02/28/10; you can see it in Richmond, Va, in my living room!). But this is a game of participation. And those who do it well do it genius. Keep it up great beards and great minds.

From here on out I'll grow a beard but won't photograph it. I'll watch.

My hat's off to Mackle for caring about art and community. Both take weird shapes. The weirder, the better.

This won't likely sway you, which is definitely a shame. The fact that you will continue to grow lessens that shame - but it's still shame, none the less. If you don't change your mind, good luck out there.
