One more clamebute.
I thought @Gavin 's fly fishing series was great. His casting photo was a beautiful photo catching the line as it moved through the air. Although I don't claim to have his expertise or skill, I thought I could credibly reproduce the photo.
My uncle taught my older brother and I to fly fish when I was about 12. We've been doing it ever since. As my younger brother got older (he's 12 years younger than me), he also started fly fishing as did my brother-in-law after he joined the family. It's now a pastime we all enjoy and we really look forward to those times when we can all get out together.
So here's my take on one of my favorite photos from the last few months.

this is an awesome photo but it brought about two thoughts:
1) Swore you shaved.. for some reason the b/w photo and your beard coloration really tricked me. I was sad for a moment.

2) You and @chris could be doppelgangers from this perspective

3) This shot is totally awesome and a rad tribute.

@mackle No shaving for me. I got a haircut today, but I made sure to tell the barber to leave the beard. In b/w from this angle my gray beard doesn't look like much but it's still there untouched.

They say everyone has a twin, it looks like @chris could be my younger twin.

Thank you so muc for clamebuting this shot. I missed the original, and although I go back through the site all the time to pick up what I've missed, I may not have found it. It was a fantastic shot and you clamebute version is equally amazing. VEry well done Sir.

And like the original, all I am able to do is latefave it, because I managed to miss both of them on the day they were posted. Arghh.

@Gavin Glad you liked it. It was fun to shoot this one. It would be fun to go fishing together. Having fished only in the West, it would be fun to experience the rivers/streams in the East.

I have family in St. Helena, I've always considered bring my fly rod and fishing some of the creeks up that way. Is there good fishing in the Napa/Sonoma area?

Fofe says:
@hankbobs There are steelhead in the Russian River (Coastal Sonoma County) about 1.5 hrs west of St. Helena and some bass fishing too in the Russian, particularly upriver in the warmer sections., Not much in the upper reaches of the Napa River that runs through St. Helena that I am aware of. Better fishing is found farther north along the coast in the Eel and Klamath Rivers for steelhead and salmon. Most of the time I try to get up to the Sierra and fish the Truckee or Little Truckee around Tahoe. Also, in the summer, fishing the Walker River on the east side of the Sierra is always fun. Hot Creek near Mammoth Lakes is another place i like in the summer for trout.
