Well, the F-5 is just a model number that describes it.

F = Florentine (fancy scroll) versus the other main type an A which is a teardrop shape
5 = has to do with the sound holes cut outs, the other main type is a 4 which has an oval/round sound hole like a guitar under the strings

Thats cool, when I do have time to play its usually a blugrass,gospel,fiddle tune type jams. My dads been playing banjo for over 30 years, so definately gets some pics up with your banjo. He has a 5 string granada
So basically your the loud one at the jam, so no one else can hear anything except the banjo of course ;P (I kid, I kid)
