Many of you are probably familiar with folk artist Howard Finster; in 1976, he answered the call of a voice that appeared to him in a paint smudge on his finger that told him to "paint sacred art." He did album covers for REM and the Talking Heads; his paintings are often full of Bible verses that he'd work into the piece. He was charged to create 5000 pieces of sacred art, but did much more than that before his death. I'd have to sell a kidney to get an original Finster, but got some good signed prints years and years ago. This one, entitled "Jesus," is probably my favorite. (Sorry for the glare of the flash from the glass on the print; this was the best of a bad lot. Not the best photographers, us.)

This is great. And I like the glare. It looks like a football.
