Theme Week: River City Ransom, NES

This week I'll be showing off a few of my favorite games. I'll try to avoid obvious titles that were epic for everyone like SMB and Final Fantasy. Hopefully you'll see some stuff that takes you back or makes you smile... or reminds you why you failed English 221 in college.

Today's game is River City Ransom. I own two copies of it because it's that important to me.... also I secretly hope that @JasonF would like to be buried with one of them as well.

Jason and I played 2P co-op on this religiously. The story is simple: fight your way through various mobs with several weapons to save the girl. RCR has a humor that is singular to it and is still one of my favorite co-op games of all time.

Merv's Burger Joint and Dragon Feet FTW.

Classic. One of the first games that made me like virtually beating up people. I also love how Technos used the same character sprites (or whatever they are) for all their games.

up up down down left right left right b a select start. i reckon if even the pope knows it, then it must be epic. still, i just wanted to say it again cause it's that same rhythm to which my heart beats.

@YogiBeard Yes - I was hoping someone else had some choice memories. "Barf!" Indeed!
@TwistedSistare - I, too, could not resist purchasing it for the Wii.... I also own it for the Gameboy Advance. Wow - I am obsessed with this one.
