VF-1J and I just couldn't figure out how to take any sort of decent forced-perspective photo. An hour of frustration later, we packed it in.

VF-1J's frustration really sells the shot.

The focus thing is tricky.

The frustration in VF-1J's body language is prefect in this.

@Jar You're not kidding. My girlfriend and I couldn't figure out the focus no matter what we did. Maybe it has to do with the lenses we've got for the camera. And the fact that it's a new camera that we really don't know how to use.

At least this shot turned out well. I like it.

This is hilarious. Looks like you and the shoulder robot could just be maxing and relaxing.

Dude I hear you. Incredibly hard shot to do. I spent about an hour and a half trying to get mine. Finally got something bearable after getting advice in the chat.

I love the Robotech!

DogCowHair says:
So, looks like you were having some Depth-of-Field issues. Make sure you have ample lighting & maybe you could manually set/force the aperture on that new hotness of a camera. (this coming from a guy who doesn't know what the crap he's doing)

CLAME for "DoF" link.

... I've got an Alpha Fighter, but I lost one of it's "clip on" wings when I was young. I've always lamented the loss of the wing, I sure would like to put it in a mode other than "Battleoid".

@Katie Pretty great. Normally, I'm not into modern art, but that is pretty cool.

@DogCowHair I think the folks who own Robotech have new Alpha Fighter toys out, and they're not expensive (from what I remember). Robotech was my cartoon staple growing up, and I've loved it since.

As far as the camera goes, it's a Nikon D40. Still trying to figure out all of the settings. I'm sure there's a way to set aperture on it - just have to find it. I'll just leave it for another day.
