Day 4: Signature Pieces

if you want to stand out in a crowd with your style, look for a signature piece. this can be anything from a bold tie to a colorful jacket to a cool shoe. this is the piece you want people to draw their eye too. in this case, my signature piece is my gray cardigan. if you notice, all of the other clothes im wearing support it by being of like or neutral color, thus bringing it to your attention and standing out. if, for example, you have a colorful pair of shoes you want to stand out, wear colors that make the shoes pop by having your clothes be darker or neutral. but remember! taste is in the eye of the beholder. so not everyone will like your signature piece, but all that really matters is that you do.

Grey Reverse Fairisle Cardigan: $40 from Topman
White Button Up Shirt: $20 from H&M
Grey Land's End Tie: $1 from a thrift store
Grey Trousers: $20 from H&M
Grey Watch Cap Beanie: $2 from Kmart

I also like to dress up my black boots with different-colored round leather or hemp laces depending on what I'm wearing. Somewhat muted yet bright colors work really well with an otherwise grayscale overall scheme.

I got the idea from these boots I have, they came with tan & blue laces. clame.

I'm too lazy to do any of the things you've suggested this week, but I appreciate the sharing. and your beard is your signature piece. It pops.

This theme is great! I have such a problem shopping. I can't stomach spending money on clothes. I'd rather by beer! No really this is a lot of help. I need to do more thrift store shopping that's for sure.

The beard makes this work. It really does...sort of balances out the threads...making it a not so dressed up feel.
