Bike week day 3: Gary Fisher Rig (the tank).

Her name is Ramona, but I just call her Mona most of the time. She's a single speed 29er. I don't really care about her specifications because she's so fun to ride. She has an eccentric bottom bracket, which I'm not too fond of, but I haven't really had any problems with it.

I really don't know what else to say about this bike. She'll roll over just about anything, and she's pretty light because she's a single speed. Two words: SUPER. FUN. In fact, I think we are visiting the trail tomorrow and/or Friday after work because it's supposed to be in the high 40s/low 50s.

Nice bike. I've been thinking about getting a 29er

My first mountain bike was a gary fisher sugar 2. I'm now on a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR, which is nice.

@vanbert You can get a decent first mountain bike for less than $500. Most people don't want to drop a lot of $$$ until they're sure they will like it. I recommend going to your local bike shop and test riding some. For your first MTB the components aren't really all that important, but how it feels is very important. The LBS can also make sure you're on the correct size bike.

@JohnnyRebellious Wanna hear something funny? I ordered the shirt from 1 less car, which is based in Chicago. You've probably seen the dudes riding around on their pedicabs, and one it a messenger I think.

@michaeljstraub Isn't it kinda warm in Atlanta? I'm riding to work Monday. Low of 44 and high of 59 is good enough for me.

@thestride Nothing is wrong with the EBB, but I prefer a standard BB and track dropouts. It's just one of those things. The EBB has actually worked out better than I thought it would, though I don't have the tools to pull the cranks from it. I do for most standard BBs.

@wondermade You should definitely get the bikes out, as soon as possible!

@grimey What are you waiting for? There's no excuse for him not returning it to you already.
